Open Question: Which part of Canada is most similar to the Pacific Northwest in the U.S.? and more... Open Question: Which part of Canada is most similar to the Pacific Northwest in the U.S.?Which part of Canada is most similar to the Pacific Northwest in the U.S.? I love the Pacific Northwest in America (Seattle Washington, Portland Oregon, etc) mainly because it's beautiful obviously, but also because of the huge Indie Folk scene. It also isn't as largely populated as cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco either, which I hate! The dimly populated Pacific Northwest is beautiful because of the changing seasons, the rain, the mountains, and snow is even beautiful. The fresh organic food in the Spring and Summer is also a great way to keep all of us looking natural looking, beautiful, and full of enough energy to remain active outdoors. But despite all the great weather and healthy food the PNW wouldn't be half as cool without the huge music scene here. Just about everyband that was created here and has traveled through has been nothing shy of pure genious which is a blessing to the Indie Folk/Rock Genre. The only downside of this area is that it's in the United States and since I have been dying to relocate to Canada because of my political views I'm hoping to find an area up in the Great White North that is just as cool and welcoming as Washington and Oregon. Does anyone know Canada well enough to make any recomendations? What I'm looking for is: *Awesome Indie music scene (*Sam Roberts, Fleet Foxes, Bon IVer, etc. *Beautiful, unindustrialized areas (Trees, mountains and natural resources *Friendly, welcoming people that will accept me irregardless of race, gender, political views or sexual orientation *Diversity and open-mindedness *Small towns are a plus!!! (100,000 or less and 25,000 or les is even better!!!) Thanks for reading. Hope you all have suggestions for me. *smiles* Open Question: Where can I bring certain food to calculate the calories in it (like food laboratory?)?Where in Los Angeles can I bring certain food items to check the amount of calories in it? like food laboratories... and how much does it usually cost? and how would they charge me? (by number of food items? or by the amount of food?) For the nutrition class project, I am investigating bagels, and I would like to test a few bagels from different bagel shops in Los Angeles and measure the amount of calories in each... Open Question: Degree in American Sign Language?I'm interested in going back to school to get an education in American sign language. It is my understanding that there are many different career options for someone who is educated in ASL. Despite all of my internet searches, I'm having trouble figuring out exactly what type of degree I would need to obtain & what schools offer that. I live in the San Fernando Valley (near Los Angeles), so I'm looking for schools/programs close to that area. Any help or advice regarding this would be greatly appreciated. Open Question: where can I exchange canadian quarters in the Los Angeles area?Open Question: Where can I listen to the USA vs Finland Olympic hockey game on the radio right now in the Los Angeles area?I'll be in my car--have Sirius, XM, and of course terrestrial radio - and still can't find it anywhere!
