Open Question: Why does Obama want the federal government to become as bankrupt as the state government of California?

Obama in his speech said that "one of the main reasons our economy faltered was because some on Wall Street made irresponsible bets, with no accountability." The exact same language could be used, with 100 percent accuracy, to describe public officials all over California–including Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who just today is unveiling his latest too-little, too-late package of reforms. All of these labor-backed bureaucrats bet irresponsibly that they could more than double pension promises to state employees over the past decade, because the "accountability" moment was deferred to when those payments came due. http://reason.com/blog/2010/04/20/obama-washington-needs-to-be-m Senate Republicans say all 41 GOP members will vote against a parliamentary procedure to allow the current bill to proceed. "If [Senate Majority Leader Harry] Reid tries to bring this bill to the floor next week, I will vote against that. I want to force negotiations to continue," said Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, a key moderate. "There were serious negotiations going on. The only way I can force people back to the table is to vote against this motion to proceed." http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/04/16/republicans.financial.reform/index.html

Open Question: Free parking around the Getty Center?

I'm visiting Los Angeles in a week and I know parking at the Getty Center costs $15. Is there free parking around the Getty Center? I'm thinking of parking in the Valley or in West LA, and taking the Metro Rapid 761 to the Getty Center. It would be cheaper that way. Any other options I could do?

Open Question: what is the best hair conditioner available in the los angeles area?

ive used mayonnaise and glycerin with great success but i don't like smelling like a sandwich. i have great thick hair like you would not believe and i like it long but the only problem is that its poofy and big and if it isn't "manageable" my wife will make me cut it because she thinks its unprofessional for the owner of a company to have messy hair, also i don't like gel. i don't care if you recommend a store brand, salon brand(la area), or a recipe, as long as it wont damage my hair. thanks. also i always style it in like a 70s hairdo.

Open Question: My daughter is going to change her name, how can my wife and I come to terms with it?

My daughter's name is Madonna. My wife and I liked the name in a spiritual sense being French Catholics and it was my mother's name so that's why we chose it, not because of Madonna. The problem is my daughter is very beautiful and a very talented actress, its her passion in life and she wants to pursue it. She's 18 and recently moved to Los Angeles and she's been working really hard and trying out for parts. She says that people really think she's very good, but that they're all telling her she definitely has to change her name to have her own identity. I feel hurt and I can't see calling her anything else since we've always called her by her name since she was born. How can I come to accept the fact that she's going to change it? Its making me feel very bad even though I know she truly loves us.

Open Question: Why are people in California so rich?

I got back home to Texas last night from a 5 day stay in the Los Angeles/Beverly Hills area. My question is "why are so many people here so rich???". What kind of jobs do they do, did they make the money from their ancestors or what? I wish to one day be cruising in my red ferrari along Malibu.
