Open Question: Why are people allowed to defecate on the streets in D-town Los Angeles?

I live in Downtown Los Angeles and it is common practice to see people squatting on the sidewalk relieving themselves. One guy actually waved at me during the process. I understand they're homeless, but can't we provide facilities for them. Beside the health hazard, it's very disgusting. On some mornings I'll leave my place and there's landmines everywhere. Kinda like the movie "The Hurt Locker", but with human feces. Can somebody please do something.

Open Question: Pro Se representing self in court please help?

misdemeanor 14601A suspended license charge, in Los Angeles. The main difference in my case being that mine was suspended due to a brief lapse in insurance, (automatically suspended upon the lapse, due to a DUI conviction in Sept. 2008, my first offence ever). What I really want to know is, is it worth hiring an attorney for this? I've spoken to several, but the problem is, attorneys want you to hire them, so they always make it sound like you're going to jail for sure, etc. etc., unless you hire someone. But during the DUI I was told that same thing, and I didn't hire a lawyer, and I didn't go to jail. I got the exact same fees and sentence as everyone else that day, several of whom did have attorneys. I need an impartial 3rd party, and I don't know anyone personally who's had this charge. I'm told that because it stems from the DUI, it's far more serious than if it had been suspended for another reason. Is this true? And if so, is it possible for me to find out who the prosecutor will be before the court date and try to work out a reduced charge, as my lawyer would do? I know it's a lot of information, and I certainly appreciate the attention if you get a minute.

Open Question: Cities listed on original Soul Train set?

What are the cities represented on the railroad-style signboard in opening of (early 70s) Soul Train? So far, I have Columbus, Las Vegas, Chattanooga, Louisville, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Cleveland, Detroit, Baltimore, Chicago, Birmingham, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Washington, Memphis, Houston, Philadelphia, and Atlanta. However, there appears to be another column on the right-hand side which seldom comes into view, and never focused clearly enough to read. ...and while you get on that, we'll get on this... Ladies and gentleman,...
