Open Question: Show biz in Los Angeles? and more... Open Question: Show biz in Los Angeles? Most of my theatre experience comes from acting in school/community theatre. I am a seasoned actor with lots of experience and motivation. In a few years I'll be packing my bags and heading for Los Angeles to "follow my dreams." Yes it sounds cliche. I plan to act in films. I know I am one of the million others who are moving to LA. Blah blah blah. I know my chances of becoming a big film star are slim to none. I'm not cocky and I do realize that it'll take time for me to break my way into the Hollywood movie industry. I want to know how the acting world in Los Angeles is like. -How much would I need to network with producers/directors? -When I arrive, how do I book an audition with an agent? -What type of work does an agent have to offer? -Will I be open to film auditions with an agent vs not with an agent? (and not as an extra) -Generally, how does a film/television audition go? Do I receive a script to practice overnight? -And what can I do now to get ready? i.e.. practicing movie scripts...? As you can see, I am misinformed and have much to learn. If you could, please try to answer my questions as best as possible. Enlighten me on the world of show biz. Open Question: Is Los Angeles a good place to go if you are an illegal from Mexico?Los Angeles seems to be a good place for illegals. Seems like the vast majority speak Spanish in Los Angeles and it looks like Mexico more and more. There appears to be plenty of opportunities to join gangs and deal drugs. Their children can maybe even one day meet their fellow, future gang members/drug dealers at the school they attend and eat at for free. They could maybe even set up a hot dog cart without the proper permit and not pay taxes. Maybe they can even do drugs or drink in a Home Depot parking lot. Bride2be- I guess you are completely oblivious to the fact that the largest percentage of gangs in Los Angeles are Hispanic and the majority of Hispanics in America are from Mexico. Grow up and join reality! Apparently, you support illegal immigration. Most Americans would greatly appreciate it if you leave. Thanks! Open Question: LAX to port of Los Angeles? What's the best way to get from the airport to the port without renting a car ? Taking a cruise, we have plenty of time ( 4 hours between flight arrival and ship departure) More Recent Articles
