Open Question: Red light traffic "guilty" verdict in (Los Angeles, CA) by written declaration question.......?I was issued a ticket by a red light camera for a rolling right on red. I did a trial by written declaration and was found guilty. I did not request a new trial as was my right and the case was closed and I now have one point on my record. BUT, I wrote a letter to the judge asking for traffic school to have the point taken off my record. Instead, the judge offered me another trial (which I did not ask for) and the case is now reopened. I am confused because I already have a guilty verdict and the court already sent it to the DMV and I now have a point on my license. How can I have a new trial with a plea of "not guilty" entered when the court already found me guilty and I missed my chance to apply for a new trial even the though the judge granted me one AFTER the expiration date to ask for a new trial. All I wanted was for permission to attend traffic school. Can anyone explain what this all means? If I am found guilty AGAIN, will I have another point on my license for the same offense? I'm trying to say that the case was closed. The court sent my guilty verdict to the DMV which assessed a point to my license. I sent a letter after that, which was too late to request a new trial (called a trial de nova, which is a right here in california for traffic violations) and I basically threw a "hail Mary pass" to request traffic school, but instead they assigned me a new trial which I NEVER asked for. Open Question: What is the point in having a team like the Los Angeles Clippers as a second team in a city?Honestly, i always wondered - why have a team like the crappy Clippers in LA? Who would ever want to support them and buy their merchandize? Who are their fan base and why the heck would you? More Recent Articles
