I'm visiting Oxford, England from Los Angeles. Will they think I dress weirdly?!? This summer my dad and I are taking summer courses at Oxford University. I've lived in southern California all my life and I've never been to England before. I'm 19 and tend to dress very pseudo-Victorian, almost low-key steampunk/goth, with the pillowy blouses, steel-boned corset over blouse, slacks, loafers or ankle-high boots. I think it's kind of ironic that every day in California I almost try to mimic 18th century British fashion, and now I'm going to the country of England itself! Should I tone it down and just wear tshirts and jeans, or should I just not really care about wearing my usual getup? I'm not sure how conservative people are in Oxford (I don't want everyone to be completely like WTF when I'm in class), but in Los Angeles, pretty much anything goes, so I'm a bit confused!
