Open Question: Any last minute tips, like make my will? and more... Open Question: Any last minute tips, like make my will?In Los Angeles they are firing thousands of teachers. I suddenly got a very young guy as my room partner.Found out he was raised by his single Mom who hated guns. But that HE grew up on violent video games and wants to shoot a gun real bad, but doesn't know how to get started. My Dad had me when he in his 50's (I am in my 30's) and was real OLD school about gun safety and me obeying. He didn't spank so much as he hit for distance. So I am sort of in culture shock. This kid doesn't get obeying the alpha wolf, or you don't wave guns around. I took him to my house to handle all the guns (after being checked a dozen times that they were empty). He has a real difficult time with the following directions thing, and doesn't quite seem to grasp the idea that blood and bone splinters will fly if he doesn't do what I say. Sigh. But I figure I am his only chance to learn how to handle guns correctly. We will be taking: My Dad's old Colt Woodsman Target Model (6" barrel) .22, my Dad's old High Standard Pump .22 rifle with the 24" barrel. A used Spanish Star Model B semi auto pistol in .38 Super that I bought cheap of someone who lost their job. My Dad's .30-30 Winchester. My Dad's .243 Bolt Action rifle. My Dad's Savage Fox BSE double barrel 20 guage. My Dad's .25 beretta. Ammo for all the guns. I will be taking ear and eye protection for us both. Garbage bags to pick up the trash. A box of clay pigeons, a red plastic hand thrower. A broomstick and duct tape to lash the hand thrower to. Two 20 pound blocks of clay. Some frozen water bottes to shoot. Assorted Vegetables and Fruits to shoot. Some reactive targets. A target stand. Some targets. A couple warm jackets. Ice cooler with steaks, potato salad, apples, apple juice, soda water. . A disposable hibachi. Lawn chairs. My poor little Honda Hybrid is going to be groaning. I am driving from Los Angeles up to the High Desert. My Ranger Friend called a BLM Ranger, and got me GPS instructions to a good place in the middle of nowhere that nobody uses, but has a good road surface. My poor little Honda Hybrid is going to be groaning. Anything else I should take? "First Aid kit with trauma pack and QuikClot." Uh oh. "dad's .25 under the shirt-tail." Uh oh. Ay ay ay. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea on my part. Open Question: I was a victim of check fraud and the bank is now charging me 6 thousand dollars. What can I do to fight this?I received two checks for an online transaction (I was selling my engine) seven hundred dollars were supposed to go to me and the rest for the shipping and handling ( from Los Angeles to London via freight) which was going to be in the thousands. I cashed the checks at my bank and send the money to the ups agent in london via western union, which I now know was a fake. When I found out this was a fraud, the police along with two other bank workers spotted the fake checks upon seconds. The cashiers that cashed the check for me gave me funny faces but still gave me the money anyway! Other bank workers told me to fight this charge because the cashiers knew they were fake and probably fraudulent and they still gave me the money either way. I was completely unaware until they froze my account and took the little money I had. What can I do? How can I fight this? Please ... I have no way of paying this. I got laid off by the city because of cuts.. i was a lifeguard and now I am stuck with this. Please help. Thank you so much. Open Question: Metro PCS texting and calling question?Well i am planning on getting a phone, but im going to get metro pcs because I am on a budget. So which plan would be good for me because I know there are 5 plans. All I really want is unlimited call and texting. Also, does texting matter if the person is far away, like state wise. I know that calls are affected by distance bit idk about texting. Also lets say I travel from Los Angeles to Sacramento would that affect calling. So yeah feel free to answer. Open Question: Are there any spelunking or caving areas on the coast near Los Angeles?I'm trying to find a place to go in the Los Angeles area (or within an hour or two drive from the city/suburbs) where you can go both caving (preferably spelunking or somewhere with a decent amount of adventure/difficulty) and then also go to the beach without a great deal of travel. Are there any locations, or is there anywhere along the California coast that would offer the cave/beach opportunities? Open Question: I need help with finding laws on parking in Los Angeles.?I have a small commercial vehicle not heavy duty that got a parking ticket because I parked in front of my apartment for lunch, approx 2 hrs. I need to find the law where it says commercial vehicles are not allowed to park in residential neighborhoods so I can contest the ticket. I know that "Parking of heavy duty commercial vehicles is prohibited in residential areas, unless the vehicle is loading or unloading goods or has a service call in the immediate vicinity". But, like I said, its not a "heavy duty". I just need some more ammo for my contesting.. thanks! More Recent Articles
