Open Question: Is my car too old for a long road trip?

The car: GMC Jimmy 1997 (suv), 140,000 miles. The trip: round trip Seattle to Los Angeles. Total miles 2300 miles. No problems with the car in the last 7 years. New suspension system. Should we drive straight through, or let it rest for a night halfway there? Can't afford to be late to where I'm going.
