Also, are Santa Monica or Pasadena CC better than these in LA? Thanks :) Im not from US and Im planning to move from europe so i have no idea what its like and im just searching for some advice, you dont have to be rude.

Open Question: What herbs and spices can I use to turn white rice black in color?

In case anyone's been to (or lives in) Los Angeles, there is an Indian restaurant there called Tantra. One of their specialties is "black rice", which is actually a saffron rice that they cook with oils and spices until it blackens. It is literally jet black in color, but of course, they will not reveal their recipe to turn the white/yellow rice black. P.S. Please do not tell me "black food coloring" or "burn it", because that is NOT what they do. Does anyone else know??? Much appreciated.

Open Question: Remington Model 8 in .25 Remington?

I want a gun that breaks down into two pieces. I hunt an area where it is legal to hunt, but it is unusual. Angeles National Forest (10,000 ft. Peaks, Nelson Bighorn Sheep, etc.). If you walk down the road with a rifle, the commuters from Palmdale to Los Angeles freak out. I would like to take the rifle into two pieces and put it in a day pack as I walk along the road. This gunshop is selling a Remingtion Model 8 Very Cheap. With an ancient side mounted detachable scope. (2 and a half power) The whole gun takes down. Is .25 Remington that had to find? I wouldn't need very much. Most of my shooting is under 75 yards. Once the thing was sighted in, I wouldn't need much more ammo. Also a .25 Remington in an automatic rifle is supposed to have very little recoil. I am recoil sensitive. Would this be a good gun for my purpose?
